A sweet YouTube Playlist of the class videos, so you can check your scores compared to other teams'. And as of March 3rd, "Yummy Feet" is in the lead. Dammit.

THE ASSIGNMENT:
The objective of this assignment: a hands-on experience in producing and advertising a video online, in a competitive arena. This is the best way to understand the participatory and competitive nature of Internet media.

THE RULES:
• Each team will produce a video. Videos will be posted on YouTube on Monday, February 21st - NOT BEFORE, NOT AFTER.

• The video must be a minimum of 2 minutes long.

• Post (embed) this video on you team's blog.

• No parodies, no satires, no recycled materials, etc. All video materials must be original. The exception being that music or audio can be from outside sources (WARNING: if YouTube detects and mutes your potentially copyrighted soundtrack, you will lose hits).

• All aspects of these videos must be created by team members only - no use of outside parties in the production or distribution of your videos. You cannot enlist others to distribute your video for you, nor can you use any form of pay advertisement. However, other people can appear in your videos (see next rule below).

• All identifiable people appearing in the video must give consent. And please do mot make videos about harassing strangers - uncool.

• Teams cannot take any measures to affect the rating of another team's video. Teams cannot utilize illicit measures to increase the number of hits on their video (e.g. - "click fraud" or anything similar).

• Don't play dirty: no animals, no babies, no children. Too easy.

• Teams that receive a higher number of hits on their video than mine (above, which currently has 3,360 hits) by the end of the semester will receive an "A" on the assignment. Epic win.

• The team that receives the highest number of hits among the class videos will receive an awesome prize. And will be worshipped.
